The biggest activity during a move is the packing. If you know what to look for when packing your belongings, you will do the job right the first time and prevent damage.
Time to pack
During a move, the most tiring work is packing the belongings. It also takes a lot of time. Therefore, start on time and avoid stress. When you are busy packing, you have to make sure that you do it right. If you are not careful, you can cause damage. Choose the right packaging materials and a sturdy moving box. Pack fragile items with wrapping paper/newspapers. You have to make sure that you pack fragile items well to prevent damage. Do you have empty spaces in the moving box? Fill them with paper or something similar.
You can also have the packing done by a moving company. This will save you a lot of time and stress.
What's in the box?
When moving, you are faced with many boxes. Each box contains items that you will need at your new location. What is very useful when packing items is to write on the moving boxes what items are in the box. The best way to do this is to write on the box with a marker or stick a label. For example, you can make a distinction between categories, such as kitchen utensils, clothing for person x, a box with all kinds of books, office supplies, etc. When you mention what is in the moving box, you do not have to open all the boxes to look at the contents. Moreover, you can immediately put the boxes in the right room. For example, if you have a box that says that it contains kitchen utensils, you can immediately put this box in the kitchen. This saves you lugging things around. Note: do you have fragile items in a moving box? Then mention this as well and prevent damage.
